Flawless Finishes was built on a foundation of craftsmanship, integrity and a dedication to excellence.
Kieran Fahy began his painting and decorating career at just 17. Trained in Ireland, where the trade demands a broad skill set – from wallpapering and plastering to interior styling – Kieran quickly developed an eye for colour, design and practical solutions. His first business under the Flawless Finishes name earned a reputation for standout results delivered on time and within budget.
After several successful years, Kieran and his partner Helen moved to New Zealand, eventually settling in Christchurch. Motivated by the opportunity to lift industry standards, they launched Flawless Finishes NZ in 2014, joined by business partner Iain. Originally from Scotland, Iain brought over 13 years of experience and expertise in decorative plastering. He and Kieran had previously worked together as Senior Foremen on complex EQC repairs, where they were often called in to correct substandard work. Experiences that reinforced the importance of doing things properly the first time.
Together, Kieran and Iain set out to raise the bar – not just through high-quality painting and decorating, but with thoughtful consultation, clear communication and a genuine focus on long-term client relationships.
Today, the Flawless Finishes team proudly serves Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region delivering tailored solutions and flawless results.
Kieran notes that while a lot of New Zealand painting and decorating businesses are strictly interior and exterior house painters, in Ireland the competition is much steeper and the success of a painting and decorating business hinges on being able to provide a wider range of services; including professional wallpapering and plastering. Mastering these techniques enabled Kieran to provide a competitively well-rounded service, and his experience gave him the knowledge to offer excellent advice in home improvements, including colour and style and making noticeable style changes on a budget.
At the close of the business in Ireland, Kieran and Helen moved to New Zealand and fell in love with the place, and here they still are, serving Christchurch and the wider Canterbury area with stunning painting and decorating services.
